As the cars pass by on a normal street corner, we find ourselves following in the footsteps of a man living on the streets. Tattered and dirty, the man (Hugh) appears to be like any normal homeless beggar on the street corner. Life, however, is often more complicated than it seems at first glance. The story follows Hugh through his childhood, revealing hardships at a young age from having to face an absent mother to an alcoholic and abusive father. Throughout our protagonist's journey, he is told that integrity is not important to a person's worth, but instead what matters is how much they have. From job loss to the destruction of his relationship, Hugh faces many challenges on the path that eventually leads him to homelessness. One day, while sitting at a small cafe with a sandwich generously given to him by a young busboy, he overhears a group of teenagers making fun at his expense. Realizing that it is not only himself that sees him as worthless and at the nadir of his life; he decided to reevaluate the choices he has made. As Hugh analyzes his life choices that led to the downfall of his life, he has to decide whether he will continue to live life on the sidelines, spectating but never truly participating, or finally make a stand for what is right. Director Kellen Gibbs takes the audience through the eye-opening and heart-wrenching tale of loss and consequence that is often never recognized by most.
